This year we had a big helping hand from the geniuses at Schport.com who did a great job tallying up all the scores and publishing results in real time for all to see.

They’ve blogged about it here, and have published the group standings, all of the group fixtures, and knockout progressions on their site (so we don’t have to!)

Milkround are always solid performers – in 2008 they reached the Cup semi final, won the Penalty Shootout and took the Top Goalkeeper prize too.

Last year they won The Plate competition and rumour has it that some recent changes to the squad have given them a strong chance of taking the Cup this year. Ones to watch…

“I can tell you that the York fact is, in fact, a myth, it was superseded long ago by various British and European laws. It has not been repealed, but you couldn’t actually do it. The oldest UK law is The Distress Act of 1267, under the reign of Henry III (it’s to do with damages). Michael Heseltine was born around this time.”

“One of our players once managed to convince a young lady in to a liaison on a beach, by telling her that he was a professional footballer playing for Charlton. What sealed the deal was the fact that he had just that week made his England debut!”

Calling all entries for The Media Sales Cup, in association with Media Week.

This is the third year of our annual 5-a-side football tournament for advertising sales teams, cited as the best annual sporting tournament in the media industry.

The date is set for Friday 21st May and this year promises to be even bigger and even better than the last.

We are proud to welcome on board our new sponsors – Media Week – and hope that they enjoy the event as much as we do, and everyone else does.
